"I was born to be a purposeful person. That is what I know." In today's society, it seems as though many people are searching for meaning in life. They search through the things that they do and say but still feel lost. Why? It might be because we've forgotten how to find happiness from within ourselves. We need to stop looking outside of ourselves for answers and start looking inside our own minds and hearts. This blog post will look at how you can find your true purpose in life!
Many a time we want to be like the next person. We want their level of success forgetting that their level of success is exactly that - theirs. Each one of us has individual potential and that means our level of success is going to be different from the next person.
More like having a seed inside of you that is different from the next person but wanting to have similar produce.
When we can find purpose in our own lives, it's easier to spread purpose into the world and help those around us. When you feel like you have a purpose then everything else will fall into place - your family life, romantic relationships and friendships are all going to be stronger than ever because of this sense of purpose that is bubbling up from within.
Purposeful: purpose in life and purpose of living are two different things but what if you can have both? Purpose in life is what you're put here for and the purpose of living is what you have created that gives you a reason to carry on.
Connect to the inner self to find purpose in life - it's a formula for creating something bigger than yourself that will last much longer after your time on earth has come to an end. the purpose isn't just about work or your career. it's about those little things that you do, every day - working on your relationships and friendships to make them stronger than ever because of this sense of purpose that is bubbling up from within.
“Your mind knows only some things. Your inner voice, your instinct, knows everything. If you listen to what you know instinctively, it will always lead you down the right path.” – Henry Winkler
The power in having a purpose is being able to be present with the now: feeling connected instead of lonely; knowing where you're going and enjoying the process of getting there. It is only when we tap into our inner self that we are able to find purpose. Because the seed is planted within, it's from there that we will be able to bring it to life. This is why we shouldn't expect similar results from the next person.
We are all unique and in our own ways. The same is true for what we want. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to happiness or purpose in life because it will come from within.
In order to become more mindful of yourself and the inner self there are a number of ways you can do this:
Through meditation (the practice of being aware) – through stillness, you can become aware of what is in your mind and heart.
Through practising gratitude (the practice of being thankful) – this is a quality that will help in developing the inner self because it forces us to put our attention on those things we are grateful for, which helps us acknowledge what really matters. It also teaches us to be mindful.
Through practising self-awareness (the practice of being conscious) – this is a quality that helps us to be in touch with our thoughts, feelings and reactions.
Through practising self-regulation (the practice of being in control) – it will help you develop the inner self because you are recognising your emotions, learning how to manage them and putting yourself into a state of calmness.
Practising self-motivation (the practice of being driven) – it will help you develop the inner self because we are taking charge of our emotions, values and goals; allowing ourselves to take responsibility for what happens in life.
It is important that all these practices enable us to be more purposeful.
Living purposefully is not only about the things you do but also who you become at a deeper level of consciousness or awareness and how this contributes to your life and those around you.
Purposefully living helps us create meaning in our lives, it defines what we stand for, where we are going and why? It allows us to experience a deep connection to the world around us that is meaningful and fulfilling.
Being purposeful in pursuing your goals will enable you to
- become more self-aware of who you are, what drives you and why?
- build greater personal resilience which helps guide decisions about life priorities; it all comes back to knowing yourself better.
